Trail hunting is lawful and should not involve the pursuit of a wild mammal, (fox, deer hare), with a pack of dogs. Nor should it involve the blocking up of badger setts. Please report those not hunting within the law.. 🦊🦌🐇

It’s #WorldWildlifeDay2025 and I am sickened to be reporting the discovery of a further two badger setts being dug in the Lepton and Grimescar areas of Huddersfield. This generally means that a dog, (terrier) has been sent underground into the badger’s home, whilst men

above ground dig several feet down, until they break through, exposing both dog & badger. The dog lives to see another day, but can be severely injured as the badger makes every effort to defend itself and survive. Of course the dog/s won’t be taken to a vet, #operationbadger

as this would raise suspicion. So often we will come across dogs with horrific injuries, parts of their lower jaw missing, damaged eyes, and covered in scars. The badger will be either killed immediately by the thugs who have been digging out, or their dogs will be set onto it.

The badger is fighting for its life, but dies regardless. Sadly this is a crime that takes place up & down the UK, despite badger baiting being banned in 1835! If you have suspicions that someone is committing wildlife crimes☎️ 101 or report online, and ☎️ 999 if crime ongoing
