Following the Sox opening day win, Marcelo Mayer was asked about coming in to pinch hit in the seventh: “I know that you live in your mom’s basement. Baseball players hear everything. Enjoy the rest of the game and call car shield. You bum.” #OpeningDay Per FenwayAttendee

I am a little surprised they’re actively planning out days for Yoshida to play defense but you’re a moron if you actually thought the extent of his playing time was going to be like two pinch hit at bats a week

I’m relatively high on the offense this year but I do think it’s going to take some time to click and could be a bit of a tough watch for the first couple weeks of the season which I’m sure the timeline will love

What is the appeal of baseball if not the ever slowly rising buildup of tension that takes place over the grind of 162? Stop trying to have takeaways from the first 3 games of the season. That tension will be released much, much later and then we can have takeaways.

I don't care about the backup catcher getting a start here and there and if it happens to coincide with a Bello start then sure but we really can't have that be an every time out thing again this year

People will laugh at Triston Casas. They’re the worst people on this app. He’s now had the last 3 years of his career derailed by significant injuries. A guy who lives and breathes baseball to the point he has to be asked to leave when Fenway shuts down at night. Just unfair.

I’ll be honest, in Lexington we had a serious conversation about signing Trevor Bauer. We had connections to him and not much was 100% known about his legal situation, so we decided to give it a look. Then we talked to about 8 former teammates. That was all we needed to know.
