On the evening of July 24, 2024, lightning lit a fire in the Sawtooth Mountains two miles southwest of Grandjean and 14 miles southwest of Stanley. This started the Wapiti Fire. Boise State University researchers have been working to collect data ever since. buff.ly/49qycwX
