One year on, 25,000 conversations later, what has BSL Health Access achieved? SignHealth looks back at why we set up the service in response to the pandemic. BSL/Subtitled Video : vimeo.com/521417047 NHS England

We are incredibly proud of BSL Health Access and very worried about what will happen at the end of this month when current NHS funding ends. SignHealth spent £800k from reserves and can’t afford to spend more. Access to health in British Sign Language is a right not a privilege.

NEW: SignHealth’s said it’s “very concerned” over the future of BSL Health Access, as NHS funding for the provision is set to run out at the end of March. The service launched this time last year to support #Deaf patients w/ accessing remote interpreters. limpingchicken.com/2021/03/10/dea…

The current funding for BSLHA is coming to an end. As social distancing measures and the roll out of the #COVID19 vaccine continues, the service has never been more needed. We call for NHS England to continue to fund this vital life-saving service. Please share!
