📢 Danwadaag, MoPIED, and Regional Durable Solutions Secretariat (ReDSS) recently hosted a learning event to discuss the implementation of the National Durable Solutions Strategy (#NDSS) and National Solutions Pathways Action Plan.

The event was opened by IOM Somalia’s Chief of Mission and MoPIED's Director of Poverty Reduction & Durable Solutions, underscoring commitment to collaborating on transitioning 1 million displaced Somalis toward #durablesolutions.

The Durable Solutions Progress Survey (#DSP) was presented by the IOM Somalia DTM team. It evolved from the Danwadaag programme monitoring tool, which measured host/IDP inequalities, into a government-led national assessment. View the DSP products here: mop.gov.so/?s=DSP

BRA DSU director Zein explained how the Derisnimo approach is shaping durable solutions: ✅Prioritizes community-wide development ✅Enhances collaboration among service providers through referral pathways ✅Builds social cohesion by supporting both IDP & host communities

In #Garowe, urban growth and displacement are intertwined. Mayor and PIU coordinator of Garowe highlighted the Hawlwadaag City Extension, which integrates IDPs into planned urban areas. Scaling such models could shape inclusive Somali cities.

Great to take part in the launch of the DARIS WACAN project in Somalia. Over 160,000 people in border communities in 🇸🇴 + 🇰🇪 will have greater access to water, infrastructure, + support to build climate-resilient livelihoods as a result. Thank you to the EU for this support.

This week, Somali Joint Fund, Embassy of Switzerland in Nairobi, @NorwayinSomalia and Netherlands in Somalia reps assessed the Saameynta Joint Programme's durable solutions efforts in Baidoa: community-led housing pilots; and Enterprise Development Fund support for agribusinesses; and job creation efforts.
