Our security partnership is helping find solutions to our shared challenges. 🇬🇧 Chief of General Staff, Sir Roland Walker yesterday met with 🇰🇪 Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Charles Kahariri, reaffirming our commitment to counter shared threats for a safer and more secure region.

We must integrate a gender perspective into all components of peacekeeping missions. The UK is supporting those responding to sexual violence on the ground. Last year, we gave ElsieFund $1.2 million, while British Peace Support Team (Africa) trained 2,208 personnel in tackling sexual abuse.

Last week, our Charge d’Affaires, Kate Thomson, attended the closing ceremony of the British Peace Support Team (Africa) training in 🇱🇷, presenting certificates to participating officers. Great to see continued 🇬🇧- 🇱🇷 sharing of military skills!

This C-#IED Conference was officially opened by the 🇬🇧 High Commissioner to #Kenya H.E. Neil Wigan OBE. Other dignitaries were the Kenya Defence Forces Commander, Lt. General David Kimaiyo, the International Peace Support Training Centre -Kenya Director (Kenya Defence Forces ), Brigadier Joyce Sitienei, & 🇬🇧 BPST(A) Commander Col. Andy Pitt.

🇬🇧 BPST(A) in #Nairobi 🇰🇪 The 6️⃣th Annual African C-#IED Conference, organised in collaboration with International Peace Support Training Centre -Kenya , US Dept of State INL , & UNMAS Mobile Training Team - #Entebbe commenced today in #Karen . Key themes for this conference will be, among others, C-IED Strategy Development.
