For those of you playing along at home, the last six years have been busy. We work with parliamentarians, more than 50 pro-choice groups, and tens of thousands of pro-choice supporters. We can only do this together. Join us as a Friend of BPAS today ➡️ bpas-campaigns.org/sign-up-page/

Yesterday's vote means never again should a woman have to be stripped of her dignity or privacy in opting to have an abortion. It also carves into history the work of Back Off Scotland,BPAS, health orgs, unions including STUC + many more. greens.scot/news/gillian-m…

Great news out of the US. Decades of evidence shows that mifepristone is extremely safe and effective. Any argument to the contrary is based on ideology not fact.

By the time this young woman stands trial, it would’ve been 7 years since she was arrested and held in custody for 19 hours as a teenager. 7 years of legal limbo. That’s longer than any custodial sentence other women have received for similar offences. This is a disgrace.

Powerful story from Scotland on Sunday on 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 women forced to travel to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 for abortion care because care isn't available locally. Who knows why it's taken so long to sort this out. Even the 'short life' working group mentioned has been running 15+ months. scotsman.com/health/left-in…

When Sarah* gave birth at 25 weeks, it was the police that arrived before paramedics. As she performed CPR on her baby, her home filled with officers. With a rise in illegal abortion investigations, it’s clear: the law must change urgently. #TimeToAct news.sky.com/story/i-felt-l…

The anti-abortion lobby came for our abortion rights in the last Parliament - emboldened by the global attack on abortion. So our asks of the next Parliament are simple: ✅ Preserve our abortion rights ✅ Progress safe access zones ✅ Protect our women by decriminalising abortion

As a result of last night's election - we're hopeful that this could be the most pro-choice Parliament in history. To the women who have needed us, and will need us - we promise to work with the incoming Parliament to preserve, progress, and protect your abortion rights⚖️

BPAS spoke to STV News on how we are seeing the highest number of women travelling from Scotland to England for abortion care since pre-pandemic. It's time for Scotland to implement these necessary services. If we can do it in England, we can do it in Scotland!

No one should be scared when going to work or accessing healthcare. Our staff and patients have been suffering harassment outside clinics for years. The implementation of a safe access zone in Bournemouth highlights they work and why they are needed. bbc.com/news/articles/…

This study shows what we already know - that women prefer to have choice & control over their abortion. But this study could never have happened in the UK. Our outdated abortion laws are blocking any chance of leadership & innovation in abortion care. The law needs to change.
