Huge news out of the Oireachtas today 👏👏 Topping off a big week for #safeaccesszones across Scotland and Ireland.

Let's hope Ireland's safe access zones take less time to implement than they have here in England & Wales. 364 days and counting...

Stage 1 passed. Onto Stage 2 😎

After Health, Social Care and Sport Committee agreed its support for the safe access zones bill, Scottish Parliament is due to hold a stage 1 debate on the bill tomorrow.

This resignation has come before buffer zones have been enshrined into law, in a 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 where women >20wks seeking abortion STILL have to travel to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 & before the decrim expert working group we called for has been convened.

These will still be our key priorities for the new FM.

On April 27th 1968 the Abortion Act 1967 came into effect, changing the lives of women in Britain.
Thank you to the staff at BPAS who make the law a reality for hundreds of thousands of women a year across the UK.

Whilst the government is playing politics, women are enduring police investigations & prosecutions for having abortions. It's not up to the government to dictate which amendments MPs vote on. Denying MPs the opportunity to vote is nothing short of a scandalous betrayal of women.

Promising news coming out of Arizona with significant progress being made to repeal a draconian law from 1864 which would impose a near-total abortion ban in the state! #AbortionRightsAreHumanRights 💪
