Power cost varies from Rs 2 - 4 per unit. DISCOMs, State Governments and some private companies are charging Rs 6 - 12. Many private companies can supply at maximum Rs 5 to the consumers. Division of tariff means inefficiency, high transmission loss & other other factors.

When the Indian Constitution was drafted it had provision for 10 years of reservation for lower OBC and Upper OBC castes and tribes. But it became an instrument to serve vote bank politics rather than creating employment it has become a tool for ushering in economics of subsidy.
