Staying below 2 degrees is not a matter of science; it is a political choice. If we choose to take action, then staying under 2 degrees is possible. We know how we can abate climate change; our politicians are just choosing not to do it. That has to change.

I still sometimes hear the statistic that 97% of scientists agree on the causes of curent climate change - but that research was published in 2013! A more recent analysis showed the consensus within the peer-reviewed literature to be over 99%, and perhaps as high as 99.9%

What will undermine UK agriculture is unmitigated climate change. Golf courses cover 100 times more land than solar farms. Most solar farms can be used for agriculture. Solar farms improve biodiversity.

Without subsidies fossil fuel would be uneconomic.
