Unfair tariffs imposed on the softwood lumber sector threaten thousands of jobs in BC. We’re working with the federal government to expedite supports for the sector. Together, we’re going to protect BC workers as we become the engine of Canada’s economy.

Our Economy, Our Coast

It’s been 10 years of the First Nations Leadership Gathering — and this year’s was the largest yet. This week, more than 1200 meetings took place between First Nations the provincial government. It’s an opportunity to listen, learn and find ways to make a meaningful difference.

Three people tied to violent extortion have been removed from Canada. Offenders will be pursued, arrested, charged, and may be deported. Thanks to CBSA, RCMP, CFSEU, & local police in the B.C. Extortion Task Force. We won't stop until these criminals are brought to justice.

Your reporting has been an important fixture in BC politics, Richard. British Columbians will miss you on their TVs, and we’ll miss you in the legislature. Thank you for your contributions to our province and best wishes in your new gig, which is surely curling related.

Important Update: 3 people connected to violent extortion have been deported. This is another step in tracking down and holding accountable those using extortion to threaten and terrorize our cities. Everyone deserves to feel safe in BC, & we won’t stop until justice is served.

B.C.'s economy remains resilient and strong, despite global headwinds. We have tens of billions of dollars in shovel-ready projects ready to go. With major economic projects comes prosperity for communities, good jobs for people, and strong services for families.

Surrey is one of the fastest growing cities in the province, and this new state-of-the-art facility is part of our government’s work to build BC and ensure every community has the infrastructure it needs to thrive.

Today, we honour the fallen and reflect on the cost of war. We salute the bravery of those who served and the sacrifices of their families. As we remember, we also honour those who continue to serve today, preserving peace and security. Lest we forget.
