On 2 November, labs had capacity for 521,016 tests to diagnose coronavirus (the number that could - in theory - be processed)
But the number actually processed was less than half this - 207,817.

President Trump has tweeted comparing influenza to coronavirus, saying sometimes over 100,000 people a year die from flu in the US. But CDC estimates show there have been no years in the last decade with that many deaths. The most was 61,000 for the 2017/18 flu season.

Boris Johnson said in a TV interview that people told to self-isolate would get: '£500 if you do, per week'.
That's wrong.
The Test and Trace Support Payment of £500 - for those on lower incomes in England who have to self-isolate - is a one-off lump sum not a weekly payment.
