During their 10-day service trip, Upper School students, Ms. Li (Mandarin teacher), and Mr. Wright (Director of Upper School) traveled to the city of Laixi, China, to teach English to local students. Their journey will be shared in two parts—today’s focus: cultural exploration.

Egg Hunt with a Math Twist! Grades 2 and 3 students in Mr. Joseph’s math class hunted for colored eggs assigned to each group. Each egg contained between $1 and $3 worth of coins, and each group had to work together to calculate and record the amount in each egg. #stemeducation

Service Trip Part 2 | Teaching in Laixi, China Upon arriving in Laixi, our students were greeted with warm welcomes. In return, they eagerly shared the activities they had spent months designing and polishing, while local students invited them to experience many traditions!
