Reminder to the West and particularly those slow to support Ukraine, if Putin defeats that country, those defence capabilities, those seasoned troops and those food supplies come under Russian control and make her an even more formidable enemy. Putin must be defeated in Ukraine.

9. The conclusion is that Russia is unlikely to organize itself so that it can oust the Ukrainians from Kursk oblast soon & this gives the Ukrainians some leeway to come up with something new. Internally, Russia & Belarus are so vulnerable militarily. This looks promising.

There remains palpable bemusement about David Frost, Baron Frost of Allenton in the County of Derbyshire. How on earth did this self-appointed, self-regarding leader of cultural revolution - or something - get where he got? A short guide for those who don’t know him. /1.

James CleverlyπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ You voted to change the ethics rules after MP Owen Paterson was found guilty of bribery in public office, to help him get away. An MP was being paid Β£112,000 by private companies to divert UK policy during a cost of living crisis, and you backed them. THAT'S what you

Breaking ! France has just announced this evening it's banning all its young people from studying, working or living anywhere else in Europe Of course it hasn't. The place would go ballistic The UK however has to do precisely that because 2 people in Clacton might not like itπŸ‘‡

UKR The Latest Day 906 Bold Kursk invasion shows Putin’s nuclear rhetoric is, as suspected, a bluff. Now a window of opportunity to capitalise requiring bolder action from UKR allies; imposing sanctions, speeding deliveries/increasing quantity of weapons, placing new orders.

Just coming to the end of watching Tokyo Vice on iPlayer from the BBC. Stylish crime drama which gives interesting insight into Japan. Highly recommended.

A brief 🧡 about Brexit denialism currently suffocating the country. 1/19 As a psychologist, I am all too aware that, when faced with emotionally challenging issues and threats, facing them can be very scary and the temptation is to avoid. Can entire nations act similarly? Yes.

12/19 So what are we to do? We need to move from the pre-contemplation stage to the contemplation stage. WE DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT HOW TO REJOIN, WHAT THE CONDITIONS WOULD BE, OR HOW THE EU WOULD RESPOND - at this stage, these are just forms of avoidance.

BBC Headlines today. Riots exposed the state of the nation says Starmer. Riots exposes state of the media, I say. October budget is going to be painful says Starmer. Tory Brexit is unnecessary pain, I say.

Our military are toys for Trump to play with. Even those who have made the ultimate sacrifice are just props in this sociopath’s game.

In Moscow’s Shadows 154, Mark Galeotti’s excellent Russia podcast, commenting on the recent UK GE. β€œβ€¦not so much that suddenly people flocked to Labour, in fact Labour held it’s vote share, but that the Russian one collapsed” More accurate than you think Mark Galeotti πŸ˜‚

The RW media will stay hostile to Labour even if they gave everyone a million pounds and their own unicorn. Trying to make them happy is impossible because their business model depends on raging against Labour. So Labour should stop worrying about how things play in the papers.

The loss of winter fuel allowance for pensioners is part of picking up the tab for Brexit. It’s just the two main political parties and the bulk of the MSM won’t be honest about that.

UKR The Latest 924 James Crisp talks about rise of Far Right in GER, NL, ITA but silent on UK. No mention of Farage’s favourable comments about Putin nor his backer Banks’ links to Russia. The clique described even by Oakeshott as agents of a hostile power. A flaky Crisp.
