You see the same iconography the Olmec relief has in Aztec art where Aztec/Spanish written sources directly identify them as what I said above

The Late Knight Show People also often get Mesoamerican armor (often not even showing any!) clothing, architecture, etc very wrong!

Even my first pic here is really excluding a lot of variety of military equipment used by the Aztec and esp. other cultures
