As well as needing nesting places in our buildings, #swifts need food! Cold, wet weather reduces the airborne #insects available to birds that feed on the wing. We can't control the weather, but we can boost insect numbers with nature-friendly #gardening & #farming.🐝🪲🕷️🦟🌳🍀🍂

innocent ignorance of Housing Association HomeGroup, means these swifts can’t get to their chicks&nests thanks to insulation being installed across 100+houses in Bridgehill, Durham. This is a wildlife crime&work needs to stop now. ⁦The Northern Echo⁩ ⁦Durham County Council⁩

These swifts got too hot, ejected themselves from their nest&died. If you find a chick alive I can talk you through how to help. May their little lost lives be a warning for us to help wildlife through this hot weather. Put shallow dishes of water out.
