"We learnt about the importance of recognising the direction of North when using a map, and how we can use the stars to locate North in the sky. Today, Year 3 have been making shelters by utilising their surroundings! Even after a late night at the sleepover, it’s great to see lots of smiling faces⛺️🌲

Year 6 have had a brilliant morning in the sun using their new knowledge of the Siberian hitch to put up shelters all across the playground!⛺️☀️

Year 6 have been identifying the types of trees we have at Avonwood- we spotted some birch, beech and cherry trees! 🌲🌳

Today, Year 6 learned how to light fires safely. Despite the heat, everyone was super fired up! Thanks Craig.
