Final proofs arrived today for my TheAviationHistorian 🇬🇧 🇺🇦 article: Pride of the Squadron. The operational flying life & shocking death of Sqn Ldr Jimmy Catanach DFC RAAF. Looks fantastic! Publication 15 April: 83rd anniversary of his wings parade. I can't wait!

Shouldn't this have pride of place on the Ed's Desk at Hush-Kit Aviation News, History & Satire Towers?

Jimmy Catanach's Wings parade was on 15 April 1941: 83 years ago. He was smiling broadly in his course photo: it was a proud moment. Later, he became the pride of his squadron. Three years after his parade he was dead. Read all about it in TheAviationHistorian 🇬🇧 🇺🇦 #47 theaviationhistorian.com/index.htm

TAH47 is now officially published! Includes articles from Kristen Alexander (Great Escaper Jimmy Catanach), Peter Hobbins (727/DC-8 collision at Sydney), Ian Bott (the Lewis Gun) plus Al-Yamamah, flying the F-117, transatlantic seadromes and more! theaviationhistorian.com

Issue 47 of TheAviationHistorian 🇬🇧 🇺🇦 is out today, Apr 15, and includes a new set of artworks by me taking a deep dive into the components and operation of the Lewis Gun. The illustrations accompany a great article by Mark Russell about the history of the weapon in RAF usage
