Why April can be the cruellest month. Many #Autistic people are glad to wave goodbye to April. The surge of interest in autism driven by #AutismAwarenessMonth leads to an outbreak of opportunities and events.
But #autism is life long, all year round, not just in April.

Wait, what? How to reduce time spent on an autistic person's special interest?

Parents of autistic children with support needs all have a common question? What will happen to my child after I die? Who will take care of them? And many parents are also autistic.

There are studies that show that autistic people have lower average lifespans? Why? Because of cooccurring conditions, bullying leading to suicidal ideation, poor support systems and economic stability. This needs to change.

At some point, very early on, undiagnosed neurodivergent children are faced with a terrible dilemma.

They will tell someone they're in pain, someone they trust, and that person will say no they're not. That didn't hurt. It can't have. They're being selfish/dramatic/lying.

Autistic people are criticised for catastrophizing. The problem is not that we are wrong; thanks to our pattern recognition abilities, our predictions are usually spot on. The real issue is that we typically highlight issues that are supposed to remain hidden.

I'm on 12 minutes of the first episode of this show Dinosaur, and it is already absolutely hilarious. Highly recommend!!
