First stop in Trinco - meeting with Thoufeek Adambawa, a teacher and civil society activist. Thanks to Thoufeek for helping us to better understand the Trinco community and for the discussion on land rights and reconciliation.

Next stop in Trinco - The Centre for Handicapped, supported by 🇦🇺 to provide prosthetic limbs, other mobility aids & services. Their work is having a huge impact, ensuring individuals with disabilities are included in communities & helping them maintain independence & employment.

I met with CBSL’s Governor, Dr Nandalal Weerasinghe and discussed 🇦🇺-🇱🇰 ties and #SriLanka’s efforts in debt restructuring and economic recovery. Australia continues to support Sri Lanka on its path to economic stability.

I attended IDP’s 🇦🇺 and 🇳🇿 educational fair and met with university reps and prospective students exploring educational opportunities in #Australia. I wish all these students a very bright future ahead!

Took some time to see the underwater beauty of Pigeon Island and was delighted to see such a wealth of 🇱🇰 sea life! Pigeon Island is an important source of tourism for local livelihoods and must be managed sustainably to help preserve this beautiful island.
