There are uncertain times ahead, but we need to look at the opportunities and build on our existing partnerships. It's been a great couple of days at Food Futures in Darwin connecting and finding ways to work together for future solutions.

Excited to be here in Jakarta with the Australian Farm Institute. Big few days ahead, meeting with policy think tanks, government and industry to share approaches to climate-smart agriculture and R&D 🇦🇺🇮🇩

We had a great discussion this morning with the Food and Agriculture Organization Jakarta regional office, discussing ways to support farmers find climate-smart solutions and improve productivity and efficiency. Grass root work is so important to drive practice change and improve livelihoods

We had an excellent exchange yesterday with the Indoneisan Ministry of Agriculture, discussing international cooperation, sustainable agricultural production & approaches to precision fertiliser application. Valuable to share our approaches and shared challenges

Starting the conversation with ASEAN today on sustainable agriculture and food systems under the ASEAN Aus NZ FTA. Bringing experts together is the first step in sharing policy approaches for better systems and environmental outcomes 🐂🌱

I was so pleased to meet HKTI while in Indonesia along with National Farmers' Federation. We share many of the same challenges - landuse change, ageing farmers, climate, connectivity. There's much we can share as Cairns Group Members to support farmers in the region 🇮🇩🤝🇦🇺

Great to start my time in the Philippines meeting with the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture. Exciting to hear the private-govt partnerships doing some fantastic work empowering farmers and women for productive outcomes 🇦🇺🇵🇭

It was great to meet the Philippine Agriculture Minister yesterday where we exchanged views on climate-smart agriculture, support for farmers and food security. It was great to hear about already close partnerships with ACIAR & CSIRO

Excited to finish my time in the Philippines at IRRI 🌾 discussing their leading work to maintain, develop and enhance rice for better health, nutrition & food security outcomes. 🇦🇺 & ACIAR investment is well regarded & demonstrates our commitment to research & the region

It's always exciting to witness new technology, which we got to do today at the Malaysian AgTech Expo. Lots of focus on fertilisers, seeds, digital tech, drones and education. The next step is enabling access for small scale farmers at a reasonable cost.

Thanks to the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia for hosting me this morning to celebrate women in agriculture. Women are integral to agriculture and play an important role both on the farm and in leadership roles in both the public and private sector. The future is bright!
