Happy to announce that the project “Building Knowledge and tools to advance on promoting of freshwater urban ecosystems as NbS for health and wellbeing ” within the scope of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions started at Portugal. The project is hosted by the Universidade Aveiro and Universidade de Coimbra.

StreamScape project (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) began at university of Aveiro.

Trees are vital urban infrastructure, which play a key role in reducing urban heat island effects and promoting wellbeing to population. #StreamScape project

StreamScape project sampled 16 urban streams in Aveiro city. In each urban stream were sampling the ES of provisioning, regulating (e.g. temperature regulation), cultural and urban biodiversity (e.g. diatoms). We thanks the logistical support provided by life de Aveiro.

StreamScape is a project funded by the European Union under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie program. One of StreamScape's objectives is to connect people, biodiversity and sustainability in cities.

Aveiro’s urban streams are the focal points of the StreamScape project. Last week, we began our leaf litter decomposition studies. Our primary goal is to determine whether ecosystem services, such as decomposition, can serve as tools for evaluating the health of them.
