One thing that always stood out to me in Douglass’s My Bondage and My Freedom is how he describes starvation as one of the most brutal parts of slavery—the constant hunger, the deprivation. The reality of slavery as a condition defined by starvation is something that needs more

I don’t know what it is, but the men some of y’all describe on MT just don’t sound real to me. I must be around some good brothers

1) the west is missing the foundation belief of La ilaha illa Allah. 2) faith is suppose to translate into action, if it doesn’t that is a sign of deficiency in faith 3) the hasn’t always be this organised. Go back 100 years or so and you will see the reverse

As a western, Israel is a leech on our economy and a stain on our reputation (which isn’t good to begin with). If we let go of Israel and actually try developing good relations with Arab countries we would get more than we do now.

I’ve experienced this as well. But I’m usually around African (Somali) Muslims. So, it effects the black immigrant community as well.

This is a lie. You can literally say the n word without much pushback. But criticise a certain nation and you’re an antisemitic who deserves to be silenced (or some cases charged with a crime)

I agree, but as a side point, Muslim communities need to take group economics more seriously. We need to begin finding alternatives to secure our basic necessities.
