It was a pleasure to meet Hon. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and thank him for the partnership between UNFPA and #Dominica , a champion of climate resilience in #SIDS .

Our work to safeguard the health and wellbeing of women and girls is helping the country #BuildBackEqual .

In #Dominica , I met with members of the indigenous Kalinago community, including President H.E. Sylvanie Burton.

We discussed sustainable development initiatives for an inclusive, climate resilient future where no one is left behind.

By investing in life-saving services for women and girls in humanitarian settings, UNFPA and partners are bringing hope and the promise of a better tomorrow.

This is what I saw last week while visiting Rohingya refugee women in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh ⤵️

Obstetric fistula is a tragic result of our failure to protect the reproductive rights of the most vulnerable and excluded women and girls.

We can and must #EndFistula once and for all.

7 years after the Rohingya people were driven from their homes in Myanmar, close to 1 million remain stranded in the refugee camps of Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar – over half of them women and girls.

This week I had the privilege to meet with members of a transgender community in northern Bangladesh.

Despite progress in parts of the world, LGBTQIA+ people still suffer from severe discrimination and stigma.

We must safeguard their rights to leave no one behind.

From Cairo to Nairobi to Cotonou to Dhaka, the message has been clear: the #ICPD Programme of Action remains evergreen.

In a demographically diverse world, the movement for #SRHR needs rigorous champions. We can’t wait another 30 years to fulfil the promise of Cairo!

The midwives at the UNFPA-supported Santal midwifery centre in #Gaibandha are some of the most dedicated I have met.

The respectful, life-saving services they provide to indigenous women in the community ensure no one is left behind.

As always, I am inspired to see my friend Malala Yousafzai. Her dedication and call for urgency to the right to education for all girls in Afghanistan and in every part of the world.

Visited our WFP team in #Sudan to find ways to expand humanitarian access, to Darfur, Khartoum, Kordofan, Gezira & more.

The window to avert catastrophe is closing. Urgent action is needed to protect civilians and to scale up life-saving assistance to people in desperate need.

I thanked Jonas Gahr Støre for his country’s leadership and support in responding to refugee and humanitarian crises worldwide. May Norway continue to play its invaluable role of peacemaker and peace builder: amidst so many intractable emergencies, it remains a beacon of hope.

I reiterate my appeal for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and for the release of all hostages.

I call for the Rafah crossing to be re-opened immediately and for the unimpeded humanitarian access throughout Gaza.

As President-designate of #RevCon4 , I briefed the EU Council Working Party on Non-Proliferation & Arms Exports -Sub-Working Group on Non-Proliferation & Arms Control (CONOP) in a virtual consultation this morning.

The Review Conference will take place 18-28 June, UNHQ.
