#Hubble30 In 2010 Hubble captured the chaotic activity atop a 3-light-year-tall pillar of gas & dust that's being eaten away by radiation from nearby stars. This turbulent cosmic pinnacle lies within a tempestuous stellar nursery called the Carina Nebula: flic.kr/s/aHsmLztPS6

#Hubble30 For its 30th anniversary, Hubble presents a colorful scene nicknamed the "Cosmic Reef." These two nebulas, NGC 2014 in red & NGC 2020 in blue, are part of a vast star-forming region in a nearby galaxy & are illuminated by young, massive stars: nasa.gov/feature/goddar…

Gorgeous view of night time moonlit Earth from ISS, starting over the Sahara desert, then Egypt and the Nile delta on the right side, moving to the north-east, with a lot of thunderstorm activity! The Airglow is very visible about 100 km above the surface.

The early days of our universe are still a mystery. ✨ Hubble used the light-bending power of a massive galaxy cluster to peer into the early universe, and found something surprising. The first stars and galaxies might've formed sooner than we thought: go.nasa.gov/2U6MHk2

The Hubble release at the end of this first servicing mission was a really happy moment for the whole Team. We just did not know at that time if the optical correction (WFPC2 and COSTAR) was going to work or not. The good news came a couple of weeks later! Big smiles then 😃😃😃
