Health & Social Care Students Community Work Huge thank you to Mrs Ward and our HSC students that have today donated over 250 items to the local New Hope Food Bank. It makes us proud to see our students supporting our local community over the Christmas period! #Community

End of term plans We finish for Christmas on Fri 17th Dec with a normal 3pm finish. This day is also Xmas Jumper day. Please bring a donation for our snowflake appeal. Thurs 16th Dec is our Snowflake Fayre event. All proceeds go to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity

It was the U13 Girls Indoor Cricket Competition last night, with Wickersley School PE, Wath Sport & PE Faculty, AstonAcademySport & WalesPE competing to see who progressed through to the SY Finals. Well done Aston who won for the 2nd week running and a big thanks to Dean Smith 🏏 for umpiring!

Excellent day at the mental health awareness fair Lead by our school student council, staff & external providers we had a very positive day welcoming all year groups down to access the fair Thank you to everyone that contributed & remember further events taking place this week!

South Yorkshire Cup Final Ends in Late Heartbreak! After taking the lead, the Cup final finished 1-1 & went in to extra time. Just as we thought it was heading to penalties Meadowhead snatched it with a late winner. The squad were superb & we are very proud of this team! ⚽️👏🏼

At Aston we are keen to promote local sports clubs & celebrate excellent work in the local area. Swallownest FC are a semi-pro club in our local area lead by former Aston students & many of the team came to Aston. Support our local clubs & check out the excellent work going on!

Big Sister Fitness Opportunity Huge well done to all our girls that took part in last nights ‘Big Sister’ fitness class! The project is aimed to get more girls active and enjoying sport and exercise! Proud of you all girls!

6th Form A-level PE Students Diving Day! Yesterday Mr Staniland took the 6th form PE students to ponds forge to enjoy a diving experience using the boards and platforms! Students were applying the theory of biomechanics to practical sports performance. #ALevelPE

Extra Curricular Football Results Lots of Cup Ties played tonight: Mr Staniland’s Y7 are through in the South Yorkshire Schools Cup with a 7-1 win against Rawmarsh. Mr Sutcliffe’s Y8 are also through in the S.York Cup with a 10-1 win against Oakwood. Well done to both sides🏆

Extra Curricular Football Results Mr Allan’s Year 11 side are also through to the next round of the South Yorkshire Schools Cup with a hard fought 4-3 visitors away at Brinsworth. 3 wins out of 3 tonight with Y9 and Y10 cup ties coming up. Well done to all teams 👏🏼👏🏼

Festive Football doesn't come any bigger than this weekend as we take on one of our relegation rivals Ollerton Town FC. We want to get a big Swallownest Crowd to cheer on the lads, and we extend a really warm to Ollerton fans too, who will want to win this one as much as we do.
