Coronavirus vaccines may not work in some people. It’s because of their underlying conditions. washingtonpost.com/health/2021/05…

Dexcom's Siri voice integration is a big deal for legally blind people with diabetes. This study shows a significant reduction in A1c and improvement in time range for legally blind people with diabetes. Making tech accessible to everyone is important #ATTD2021 #inclusionbydesign

As data shows, engagement in the #DOC also strongly predicts better glycemic outcomes, greatly reducing the chance of having an A1C over 7%. #ATTD2021 #dedoc #dedocvoices (3/7)

Reminder that the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 protects all people with diabetes at work, and requires employers make reasonable accommodations so you can do what you need for your health. And to the writer - maybe ask why the ā€˜beeper’ is so important first?

It’s the same old story that disabled people hear every day:ā€Disabled people will not use the service. There’s no demand for the service.ā€ Wheelchair users don’t use the service and demand is low because THE SERVICE IS INACCESSIBLE. #Lyft #Uber #CripTheVote

.Dear Abby I would personally LOVE to silence all the alarms from my CGM. But the U.S. FDA requires audible alarms for life-threatening situations (I.e. dangerously low blood sugar). The Americans with Disabilities Act protects my right to use these in the workplace. Full stop.

My favorite part was when they made us hike all day to the campsite from base camp, lugging gallons of water in case anyone got keytones, while also — carrying pounds of sugar to combat the effects of lugging pounds of water šŸ˜‚

I have a dream — not fearing being homeless again. One day the proletariat of insulin-dependent diabetics will rise up and overthrow corporate sociopathy and capitalism, I hope šŸ¤ž until then, the fear in work continues, alas.

if someone comes to you in confidence to discuss how you made them feel and you suddenly feel attacked and make it about you, that’s ego.

This is beyond offensive and not even close to accurate about diabetes or why people need insulin. Thousands of people in your district have Type 1 diabetes at no fault of their own - do you not care? Shame on you.
