Happy Friday! Looking for a #weekend #DIY project? Here's a quick guide to making stray #cat shelters-feeding boxes from storage bins. A way to help them survive until you can get help with #TNR/placement esp with cold weather coming.

Step 1: Drill 4 holes in preparation for cutting an opening for the #cats and use a ruler and marker to mark the size of the entry/exit hole. Make sure it's large enough for a larger stray or pregnant stray but not large enough to let in rain/snow.

Step 2: Use a reciprocating saw or handsaw to cut the opening. Sand the edges if there are any sharp edges left so it doesn't cause the #cat any injury upon entry/exit. I like to cover the rough edges with duct tape.

Step 3: Insert food and water bowls/plates for the #cats. I usually put something heavy on the top of the bin to prevent high winds or a deer tipping it over and ruining the food.

Lastly, in addition to the food/water bins for stray #cats until you can get them further help, you can cut a smaller hole on the side (instead of the front) and fill it with straw in the winter so they have a warm dry place from cold and storms.
