Unfortunately, this massive pile of snow that was shoved onto the curb cut in front of Brookland Metro is still there. It's a burden on Metro Forward users with mobility issues, seniors bringing groceries, families with strollers and every other pedestrian DC Department of Public Works.

New sidewalk alert: @ddot has given notice to build a sidewalk on the south side of T Street NE between 4th and 5th Streets. Comments on the design can be submitted to DDOT until May 15. After that they will review and then give 15 day notice before construction starts.

Looks like signage is up for the Edgewood Trader Joe's.

Good morning from the new Trader Joe's Trader Joe's opening in Edgewood today near Brookland metro station. ANC 5F , especially Commissioner Aru Sahni (5F02) , worked hard to get this grocery store open with licenses approved in record time. The line started forming at 6:30 for the 9am opening!

Commissioner Kelly Rzendzian is moving out of DC and has submitted her resignation. She did a lot of work, especially on public safety and coordination with agencies, and I thank her for her service! The vacancy in District 5F07 will be posted in next week's DC Register.

Glad I got to speak with FOX 5 DC on why Mayor Muriel Bowser should reverse the CA Kevin Donahue decision and keep the Throne restrooms open! These are necessary, in fact "necessary" is old time word for bathroom! Savings is $126,000; paying people to clean up neighborhoods will cost way more.

The Council voted down an alternative to Initiative 82 that would have lowered tipped workers’ base wages to $8 and a guaranteed super wage of $20/hour. I still believe we can support restaurants, advance wage justice, and make things clearer for patrons.

I have just received word that the green light has been given, things signed, and it's now in motion to reopen the restrooms in the next few days!

I have joined with Commissioner Commissioner Aru Sahni (5F02) to oppose a downzoning from mixed use to industrial proposal on New York Avenue at Montana Triangle, reinforcing concerns raised by ANC 5C and almost all of the community comments. The proposal would delete 1,400 homes from the zoning map.
