Peter Attia and Benoit Arsenault hit the nail on the head: - Lipoprotein(a) is an independent risk factor for ASCVD. - Lp(a) is has been too ignored for too long. - Knowing your Lp(a) is just the first step to proper risk management. peterattiamd.com/high-lpa-risk-…
Still unsure whether to measure lipoprotein(a) in your patients? Check our new CardioPulse article in the European Heart Journal: Eight reasons why Lp(a) should be measured in everyone at least once in a lifetime European Society of Cardiology EHJ Editor-in-Chief European Society of Cardiology Journals academic.oup.com/eurheartj/adva…

Lipoprotein(a) is one of the strongest risk factors for aortic stenosis. Results of our new meta-analysis, just out in JAMA Cardiology, reveal that Lp(a) is also strongly associated with aortic stenosis *progression*! Thanks to everyone who contributed. jamanetwork.com/journals/jamac…
We should recognize that we are facing a poor lifestyle rather than an obesity epidemic and that the “obesity epidemic” should be considered a symptom of a socio-economic model promoting cardiometabolic diseases 🔗atherosclerosis-journal.com/article/S0021-… Benoit Arsenault Elsevier Cardiology
Nice paper today in JAMA Cardiology led by Benoit Arsenault - higher Lp(a) predicts faster progression in AS. Clinical pearl: if you measure Lp(a) in your pts with pre-existing AS, you can predict who needs more close f/u and testing, and look very smart to your referring MDs!
