A career in mediation starts with a course and our skills are then refined over many years. A mediator is always learning about diverse topics such as the law, negotiation theory, psychology, finance & all the other things that help us to help you reach a lasting resolution!

So if you have ever dreamed of becoming a professional "peacemaker" then start today. As the old Chinese proverb goes, "If you plant a tree in the morning, it is unrealistic to expect to sit in the cool of its shade by the evening."

So true. Many mediators can feel "impostor syndrome" as they start their professional journey. It can take months or even years to steady the ship, by honing & acknowledging the skills they have to offer disputants.

Sad news. Tony Whatling will be missed by the mediation community. His books helped refine our skills & help as many people as we could in the process. We owe him a debt.

A great event which was attended by ARC's Partners, Dr Roisin O'Shea & Shane Dempsey as the Chair & Treasurer of the IPMO. It was a brilliant opportunity to engage with the HR community, and to discuss the nuances of workplace mediation.

The outcome of years of hard work by many people, and something the founders of Arc have championed since we visited Canada as researchers in 2010. Our business was only a few months old but our dreams were big!

A great reason why statistics need to be interpreted and explained, and why you should be skeptical of simplistic statistical arguments which don't consider different interpretations.
