Introducing our new project ‘from A to B’ with the balloon rocket experiment 🎈🚀. 1AA had a wonderful time predicting and discussing how the balloon would move🧐 🤯. We ended with a balloon rocket race🏅

We have ended the 1st week of our new project with bringing in our own ‘wheels’! With the rain and storm last night have focused on an ‘in the moment’ question ‘How does the weather impact transport?’

This week in English, Year 1 are focusing on exclamation marks. We worked with our partners to figure out if the sentences need an exclamation mark or a full stop.

1AA have flown through their maths learning so far this week and are fantastically working on their number knowledge! We have some wonderful problem solvers that are independently challenging them selves 👩‍🏫📝🧠#welovemaths #magnificentmathematicians #maths

Year 1 have loved the launch of their Green Fingers Project by welcoming the local Author Ebtisam and her wonderful book ‘Citrus the Smoothie Sloth’ 🦥 🍌🍉🍍 We can’t wait to make smoothies later this week 🍓🍎🍊🥭Thank you for coming to the Arbor School!!!

What a fabulous instruction writing lesson! First the children orally discussed how to make a jam sandwich and we discussed how specific the instructions needed to be. Then the children worked together to create instructions whilst they took turns making their sandwich🥪 ✍️😋
