We recently held a sensitization session for health care workers focused on promoting culturally sensitive and youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service delivery.

Through this session, we strengthened the capacity of health care providers to offer inclusive, respectful, and effective SRH services that meet the diverse needs of young people.

On Friday last week, in partnership with the Department of Health, Muhoroni Sub-county, we concluded our in-reach at Ramula Health Centre. Bringing together 155 young people, they accessed age-appropriate SRH Pleasure Inclusive information.

Additionally, they accessed different SRH services whereby 15 received FP services,10 received HTS services, and 21 screened for cervical cancer.

In partnership with AmplifyChange, we held our biannual stakeholders’ meeting, bringing together partners to reflect on the project's progress, document key achievements, and strengthen our shared commitment to advancing pleasure-inclusive SRHR for young people in Kisumu County.

"We’ve seen real behavioral change; students who were once shy about SRHR topics are now confidently engaging in conversations," shared a representative from Eagle Wings Organization while at Joel Omino sec, there is improved menstrual health dignity & hygiene.

We held a community dialogue with elders, men, women, and youth to challenge harmful norms limiting women’s economic opportunities. We unpacked barriers to women’s empowerment, men’s supportive roles, and promoted poultry farming as an alternative decent employment for women.

“It is believed that men were meant to toil for women to eat and give birth,” one participant shared; a belief we’re working to transform. It was inspiring to see men express support for women to engage in business and be part of financial decision-making from the household level
