A windy and chilly day that was descent in terms of ringing numbers. Just more than 70 birds of 13 sps, including the first Nightjarof the season!

Spring 2024: Day #19 of Bird Ringing
Notably better day with around 40 birds of 14 sps. The species diversity was nice but no Doubt the bird was the “flying banana” the Golden Oriole (the first of the season)

Spring 2024: Day #18 of Bird Ringing
After 2 days with strong wind we are back in business. To be honest we were expecting a much more productive day but least we got our first Turtle Doves!

Spring 2024: Day #15 of Bird Ringing
Slow day with just 20 birds of 6 sps. The Barn swallow gave us some joy! The perdition gives strong winds for tomorrow but we have to wake up and assess the situation.

Spring 2024: Day #14 of Bird Ringing
Close to 50 birds (of 18 sps) in total. The passage of Tree Pipits seems to peaking as it was once more the most abundant. New for the season was the Ortolan Bunting.

Spring 2024: Day #12 of Bird Ringing
Another slow day but with our first raptor ringed for the season. A Kestrel visited us a little bit before the end of the ringing season. The Tree Pipit was the most abundant.

The south west winds still persists between Africa & N Med so still have few birds. 13 birds of 8 sps in total but with the 1stWood Warbler of the season.

All good things must come to an end and so today was the last day of the spring count! Our best day so far with 164 birds and a nice flow throughout the day.

Some nice migration today! Booted Eagles were definitely the bird of the day with 11 birds passing around midday mixed with Common Buzzards.

Still few birds in the nets with 30 birds of 13 sps. The first Reed warbler ringed today while the Blackcap was the most abundant sps in the nets.
