Today we commemorate the life and ministry of Jean-Baptiste Vianney, a parish priest who loved his parishioners so much that he would spend sixteen hours a day hearing their confessions. He died in 1859 and is the patron saint of parish priests.

A joy to celebrate our patronal festival at St. Bartholomew’s, Newbiggin. Let‘s rejoice in the holy example of all the saints!

For this years (somewhat miniature version) Patronal Fayre St. Bartholomew’s, Newbiggin pays tribute to the NHS, Ambulance Service and all key workers with a floral display at Church Centre. Also open Monday 31st August 10-2.

Congratulations to David and Kathleen on this 50th Anniversary of their marriage! They were married at St. Bartholomew’s and returned here to renew their vows today.
