Of course I’m not happy with the result tonight; multiple contributory factors, but ultimately we weren’t good enough. But in better news, that Spurs defeat is MASSIVE. Ahead of this week’s fixtures, I considered all eventualities… and released my inner nerd in Excel.

Struggled to think of any but… does anyone truly dislike Bournemouth (besides thinking they’re too small for the prem)? Exeter? Plymouth?

The mind boggles. That’s a ridiculously soft penalty, absolutely point blank heads it against Luiz’s arm. But in the context of not giving, or reviewing, either Villa claim - one of which was stonewall - it’s just ridiculous. All from a stupid, needless corner Lenglet concedes.

Well… our goal clearly should’ve stood. But we can’t let decisions like that affect us so badly. The midfield are all at sea. Luiz really struggling again. And our defensive line has been poor. Cash too slow out for the 1st, Lenglet poor for the 2nd, but Olsen should stop it.

Seen that ‘goal’ back multiple times. Absolutely nothing at all wrong with it. Iborra has dived and the ref bought it. Should be 1-0. Cracking effort from Rogers before that too. Come on Villa!!!

Estimated worth according to who?! 🤯

Per Transfer Markt:

Rashford: £60m
Højlund: £65m
Garnacho: £40m
Antony: £28m
Dalot: £35m
Fernandes: £70m
Onana: £40m
McTominay: £32m
Mainoo: £35m
Sancho: £25m

And even some of those look high. Ain’t no way they get those sorts of fees.

In absolutely no way surprising. First one was never, ever a penalty. Simulation by the Forest attacker. The second one, not a penalty either. But the third, that was stonewall.

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
6/11 Liverpool players when they have won ONE Premier League title in 31 editions of the competition? Same as Blackburn & Leicester? Omit the competition’s top goal scorers?

No Liverpool players make the all-time XI. Not one.

And there in lies the rub… unless there can be parity with UEFA’s rules, Villa will be hugely disadvantaged next season vs the ‘big 6’ who have much higher revenues, AND the other 13, who will be able to spend a higher percentage of their (more comparable) revenue.
