OTD in 1838 #AnneLister summited the #Vignemale in the #Pyrenees, with 3 local guides and skirts tied up. 🏔🥾🎩🏳️‍🌈 She had to defend her summit claim from a rival: #RepresentationMatters! She sketched the view back on 16 Sept ⤵️ (note loss of glacier). 📸: @westyorkshirearchive
