Thoughts on budget amendments: good to see Gov accepted legislature’s teacher pay raises - important step forward. But disappointed to hear $600M+ ed cuts especially to our neediest students. Rating schools “bad” w/o $ needed to improve won’t work. Accountability works both ways

We plan to invest half a million dollars in the Community Builders Pilot Program to provide at-risk Roanoke City eighth graders with a positive space to learn about career paths, higher education options, & connect with leaders serving our neighborhoods.

It's almost like stirring up dissatisfaction with public schools among those who don't utilize them is a calculated electoral strategy.

4 in 5 K12 parents are satisfied w public schools, maintaining the same level of satisfaction as 20 years ago. This is true for both Democrats & Republicans. (In fact, Democratic K12 parents now more satisfied)

The satisfaction dip is coming from Republicans *without K12 kids*

First Lady Jill Biden today announced the White House will host the first ever Teachers of the Year State Dinner. A White House official tells CNN the event will take place on May 1 and will welcome the National Teacher of the Year and teacher honorees from each state.
