Does this interior remind you of anything? Minus a botanical ceiling mural? Recently, @mobotmuseum's curator was able to go to Kew Gardens (and thanks to AuroraPrehn) was able to see the building that inspired MO Botanical Garden founder Henry Shaw to create a museum and library!

We have been making progress to improve the school at Tomboya, Guinea. Read about it in the update. Every single share and donation makes a difference. gofund.me/29665a5c

sad news - Duke University decided to dump their herbarium, which has over 800,000 plant specimens, one of the largest among in America, and includes many type specimens of Lady Gaga ferns. What a shame. Please stop Duke University admins for making this horrible mistake!!! The Chronicle

The world class Kew Herbarium was established by two of the most ‘top tier’ botanists in the world who really knew what they were doing: William Hooker and his son Joseph Hooker. Can’t question them unless you, yourself, are of their calibre; very few, if any, are. #Respect
