"Nutrient warnings are an important strategy that should be leveraged as soon as possible." @MarissaGHall of UNC Public Health and @uncpopcenter.bsky.social and Anna Grummon of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in JAMA jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/… cpc.unc.edu/news/viewpoint…

Our new study investigated parents’ perceptions & use of calorie labeling—messages to increase use should be nonjudgmental, fact-based, and highlight value, fullness, and easy meal component swaps 👍👍 Christina A. Roberto Jason Block Jim Krieger Christina Economos sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Nutrient warnings on foods could help inform consumers, encourage the food industry to make healthier products, benefit public health, counteract adverse industry marketing practices, and potentially improve health equity ja.ma/3myuMyR @MarissaGHall Anna Grummon

Thank to the The Atlantic for the interview.

Yay! Congrats to Fernanda Mediano Stoltze on this new study showing that warning labels help reduce- but don’t eliminate- the misleading effects of nutrition claims on unhealthy foods. Policy lesson: warning label policies need to consider nutrition claims too.
