Ezetimibe is cheap (<$10/mo), generic, safe, and guideline-based- but BCBSTX requires a PRIOR AUTHORIZATION before I can prescribe it to their members. BCBSTX showing how much they value 1) their patients' heart health and 2) our (doctors and nurses') time.
