The uterus being “just” an organ is a huge part of the attitude in medicine that Gynecologic surgery is not surgery.

How can we value Ob/Gyn when we think female organs are throwaways?

An organ sophisticated to the point of growing an entire person.

I wasn't sure whether I was gonna come back to this platform after this year's social break, but then my mentee's project was accepted to AMEE International Symposium on Medical Education and I couldn't be more proud so I'm just gonna brag about her.

Excited as usual, for my annual social media break.

Was looking for a gummy prenatal, and for the love of all things holy why do so many brands have methylfolate and not folic acid? Which, to my understanding, is the ONLY form of folate that we KNOW prevents neural tube defects?

You shouldn’t have to confirm that someone is disabled, handicapped, immunocompromised, is a cancer patient, or has any other risk factor in order to implement safest and best practices.

This headline is journalistic malpractice. It gives the impression that these programs are bloated & wasteful when in fact it is the opposite — MORE CHILDREN NEEDED IT THAN WE THOUGHT

When patients get described as “VIP”s it insinuates that other patients are not very important people. Since we try to give our very best to everyone I suggest we eradicate term “VIP” from the healthcare dictionary.
