Excellent work by Scott MacRory and Mae from Prostate Scotland . These engagement sessions are literally saving firefighters' lives, and I look forward to similar programs being rolled out across the whole of Scotland and the UK.

Firefighters were asked to cross the picket line and collect bins in Birmingham. Firefighters are trade unionists and we will never disrespect our comrades fight for fair pay. Solidarity with Birmingham's bin workers! #megapicket

Scotlands emergency services spent £3.5 million on control room overtime in three years..FBU Regional Treasurer, Seona Hart, tells 1919 magazine “Our members are still regularly working below agreed safe crewing levels in control rooms across Scotland” 👇 1919magazine.co.uk/june2025/emerg…

The comments on the article will brighten up your day 😆. Zarah Sultana MP has been a friend of the FBU for years, and has fought on behalf of the working class as long as she’s been an MP. The hatchet job has backfired spectacularly. Solidarity ✊

Local campaigns are underway across Scotland as options for station closures and reductions in fire cover go to public consultation, launching later this month. Decades of underfunding have already seen us lose over 1200 firefighter posts since 2014. #CutsLeaveScars

Thanks to Brian Leishman for his continued support of Fire Brigades Union and FBU Scotland. Always a strong voice in parliament for our members. FBU Scotland officials will be lobbying in Westminster on 16/7, we look forward to speaking to MPs representing Scotland.

This is a “once in a generation” opportunity to safeguard workers’ collective power. We are calling for the House of Lords to abolish the ban on ‘secondary action’.

Gus Sproul (@angussproul) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Well said. The public don’t want reductions in cover or stations closed. They don’t want to wait longer and response times have been on a continual rise over the last decade across the UK. These cuts will exacerbate that further. Have your say when the consultation launches.
