This is exactly the kind of investment that Glasgow and the west of Scotland needs to transform our postindustrial communities, where there is so much energy and potential. Great to see John Swinney joining Cllr Greg Hepburn to see all that’s happening in the east end

He also revealed Keir Starmer hadn’t spoken to him at all! Ironic since Mr Leishman claimed in the General Election campaign that a vote for him meant “a seat at the heart of government”. And that if elected he - and Labour - would save Grangemouth. So many false promises…

🧵1/ I’m in politics because I believe Scotland can do so much better with independence. In 2014, we imagined a fairer, more confident country. That vision didn’t fade - in fact, and it’s more urgent and needed more than ever.

Delighted that Glasgow City Council’s hugely popular On Street Cycle Storage programme is continuing to expand, with an additional 720 spaces being provided this year. glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/25342253.…

I was lucky enough to get one of the spaces in a new shelter in my street, an absolute game changer. No longer having to lift a heavy bike up and down 60 stairs. Using the bike more and more now!

By the next Parliament, there will be a million eligible voters who were too young to vote in the independence referendum. Time for Scotland to have a choice on our future.

Good luck to everyone in Glasgow waiting on their exam results today. It’s a nerve-wracking time but there are people here to help 👇🏼

The achievements of Glasgow's young people is a real success story & one we should shout about. Susan Aitken on how more pupils are doing better in our schools. And some advice on what to do if the results weren't what you'd hoped for.

65 countries have gained independence from the United Kingdom - and not one of them has tried to come back. That’s because independence is normal. Decisions for Scotland, made in Scotland. It’s a future worth voting for. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Fantastic progress on the conservation of the George Square statues. 🎥 Watch Queen Victoria's air blasting reveal the bronze below 😍 Next, the statues will receive their chemical patina & wax for protection. We'll share progress as they continue their restoration journey.

Great to see fresh proposals for conversion of the iconic Met Tower into new city centre residential accommodation. Lots happening in this area, with George Square and key streets being transformed through the Avenues, and the completion of new developments such as Love Loan.
