Always a pleasure working with Giselle JeanBaptiste and Val Thomas (she/her) - most recently on the panel on "Competencies for the Digital Age and What You Need to Innovate" at the virtual Infonex Inc. Agile Approaches for Digital Government Services Conference.

I'm running an #ITiCSE2021 working group with Angela Siegel on what post-COVID computing education should look like. We're looking for applicants to join #wg1, with an aim to have a draft report at the end of June! More details on how to join here: iticse.acm.org/working-group-…

Our first #SIGCSE2021 BoF went well! 90 minutes of non stop idea and discussion with many conference delegates about lessons learnt from covid - looking forward to continuing it tomorrow with a particular focus on CS1 students! (w/ Angela Siegel and Teri Balser)

Final #SIGCSE2021 BoF today - rebranding "failure" in CS1. How does "iterative failing" make students feel? How can we improve upon it? 90 minutes later, we're no closer to the answer - but we had a lot of fun figuring it out, and are inspired with ideas! (w/ Angela Siegel)

TY Brittany Sue Pennell for joining us as we share our artwork dedicated to remembering and honouring the 215 children specifically, and all those impacted by residential schools Our work continues with indigenous teachings, contributions & change makers #LK37Moments

Our 25-page paper has been submitted for review! Thanks to everyone who participated in this massive piece of work. #wg1 Angela Siegel, @thedavewilliams @BedourAlshaigy Ric Glassey Jeremiah Blanchard Dr. C @[email protected] Charles Riedesel Robbie Hott Prof. Tom Crick, Mali & Simon

Following our very successful working group last year… we’re back in the driver’s seat! Applications are open to join Angela Siegel and I as we strive to understand the impact covid had had on computing students. More details here: iticse.acm.org/2022/working-g… (we are WG6)
