We're taking action to build more social and affordable housing and help end homelessness for good. Deputy PM Angela Rayner visited Pembrokeshire Action for the Homeless where she saw a numeracy workshop - helping users to improve and develop their skills for the job market.

My thoughts are with all those affected by the major fire incident in Dagenham. I thank London Fire Brigade & all emergency services on the ground for their bravery and swift response. I and Home Office Ministers are receiving updates on the incident from operational partners.

Deeply saddened to hear that Sven-Goran Eriksson has passed away. He will be remembered for his tremendous contribution to English football which brought joy to so many over the years. Our thoughts are with his family.

Incredibly grateful to emergency services for their bravery over the weekend. The stories I heard from residents today were harrowing. My priority is getting urgent answers for them, convening regulators and other key players to get buildings remediated as soon as possible.

Unsafe cladding still poses a risk for far too many people across the country. This can’t continue. People deserve to live in safe homes. I met with mayors, regulators and partners today to set clear expectations about urgently making homes safe and speeding up remediation.

This Labour Government has a moral obligation to do everything in our power to build the homes people desperately need. Our New Homes Accelerator will get shovels in the ground. telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/…

Too many consented housing developments across the country are stalled or not being delivered at the pace required. Our New Homes Accelerator initiative will unblock constraints and get the homes we need built. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

Our New Homes Accelerator will help: ✅ Deliver thousands of homes stuck in the planning system ✅ Build on plans to deliver 1.5 million homes ✅ End the housing crisis and drive growth

We inherited a Tory housing crisis. Too few homes have been built. Ordinary people can’t get on the housing ladder. There’s no time to waste. I’m calling on landowners, local authorities & housebuilders to help unblock sites & get shovels in the ground. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

Deputy PM Angela Rayner tells Good Morning Britain that it is unacceptable that so many buildings identified to have unsafe cladding haven't had remediation work started. That is why she has announced she will bring forward a remediation acceleration plan this autumn.
