Truly enjoyed my time with Pete Hall this week. He shared this quote early on Day 1, & I keep coming back to it because it really resonates with where I am with some of my teachers. You don’t reflect on your practice bc you’re not good; you do it bc you can be even better!

Picture book recommendation! The Very Impatient Caterpillar by Ross Burach is a hoot. I had to have my daughter read it to me one more time for posterity before she had to turn it back in to the library.

Since I'm supposed to be working on my super-exciting & definitely-useful-in-the-future plan to develop a "comprehensive system of human talent management" for my pretend campus when I'm a principal, I'm obviously obsessed with an idea for Big PD week that I want to develop...

... Will get back to Big PD idea shortly. First, I must shamelessly brag on my kiddo. Emma was the Wow Writer of the Week in her class! She got a 100 on her math DPM, a classroom leader award, & Explorer of the Week! She LOVES her teacher, Sara Corl, who makes learning FUN!

So BIG PD idea... I want to tackle the technology station in blended learning. I'm more interested in middle school, but there may be some ideas floating around out there in elementary or high school that could work as well...

I want to provide teachers with some techy ideas to reinforce what students are reading and writing about in class. So far, I have Book Snaps, ChatterPix, @Flipgrid, WeVideo, and several grammar practice websites on my list. Are there others you know of?

I'm particularly interested in activities that have a speaking component that will support ELLs, but I'm open to everything.

We never would have guessed how much we could love TP. It’s like a member of the family.

#aftDOESspeakforme I have multiple autoimmune diseases. I’m worried for myself. My mom is moving in with me to help my 7yo w school. I’m worried for my mom. I can’t wait to get back to normalcy, but while Covid is raging out of control, now isn’t the time for business as usual.

I’ll give 100% no matter how things turn out. I’m just heartbroken that it’s become an “us vs. them” situation.

I have to say that after spending the first 3 days of the school year with my teams, TRUITT TEACHERS ARE AMAZING! They are putting their anxiety over the uncertainty to the side and getting the job DONE so our kids can have an amazing year! #wolfpack
