#OnThisDay in 1938, the Nazis initiated a campaign of hatred in all Nazi territories. The night became known as #Kristallnacht .
An estimated 91 Jews were killed, 30,000 arrested and 267 synagogues destroyed. Many shops and other Jewish businesses were destroyed and looted.
A synagogue in Hanover, Germany, set ablaze during the #Kristallnacht pogrom of November 9-10, 1938.
During this horrific violence, the Nazis led people to destroy Jewish businesses, buildings and synagogues throughout Germany and parts of Austria.
We remember.
82 years ago #OnThisDay the #Kristallnacht pogrom took place. Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues were attacked across Germany and Austria and in areas of the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia recently occupied by German troops throughout the night of the 9-10 November.
Thank you so much to The Actors Centre & Katy Lipson - Theatre Producer 🎶🎭💜🌈 for having our #actor turned #producer Gemma Reynolds at your workshop yesterday. Invaluable advice for us to put to good use & a fun, positive vibe throughout.
UK pals: Want to learn about #antiSemitism , or talk more about in schools but don't know how? Follow/book AndThenTheyCameForMe. It is a stunning educational play I toured with before lockdown in collab with/based on the true story of Holocaust Survivor, #EvaSchloss and her family.
This #WorldRefugeeDay , we stand with everyone everywhere who has lost family, friends and home, and had to try to start again. Thank you for everything you have brought with you. You are welcome here.
