Individual carrying an AR 15 rifle shot up my neighborhood Monday morning. I live in the #DistrictofCrime and I want to know what city leaders are doing to stop the violence. Telling us that crime has decreased is a lie. Telling me that DC is a safe place to live is also a lie.

I live in the #DistrictofCrime , a city where my groceries will be checked because others are stealing, a city where the DC Council states that individuals who steal shouldn’t be held accountable, a city wherein businesses are leaving b/c of the crime.

Thank you MPD for arresting yesterday’s shooter. That you for placing camera in front of shooter’s house. There must be zero tolerance for gun crimes in DC.

Neighbors woke up to gun shots at 2:20am today. SWAT team and MPD officers responded. Solution to the crime in DC is prosecution. Fully prosecute all gun related crimes. Require all individuals convicted of gun related offenses to serve their full prison sentence.

Gun shots at 2:20am in the 1700 block of Independence Ave SE. The solution to today’s act of violence is to work with MPD and U.S. Attorney DC to prosecute the crime, to send the message to others carrying guns that violence isn’t and won’t be tolerated.

Thank you MPD for investigating retail theft in DC. Businesses have and will continue to close because of these thefts. The individuals involved in the crimes should be fully prosecuted, held accountable for their actions.
