Nothing symbolises the transition to a boring middle age existence than trading your ice climbing crampons for lawn aeration sandals 😕

What is the new Building Regulations proposal Part Z? @ArchTesta explains all, including how regulations for lowering carbon emissions from new buildings could impact self builders trib.al/kCjOTbt

Blackouts are 'unlikely' this winter, but National Grid's warning over energy shortages is important. Me for MyHomebuilding on what to expect over the next few months trib.al/FkZ2zzP

Can't WAIT for this to actually happen. I'm braced for the fleet of robot builders in space... although could the energy beam be used a weapon? homebuilding.co.uk/news/solar-pow…

A curious development this. A UK plot of land being sold as an NFT to circumvent some of the admin process... a financial disaster waiting to happen or a bold step into the future of conveyancing? homebuilding.co.uk/news/a-uk-firs…

A privilege to have been involved in the judging for this year's Homebuilding & Renovating #HOTY awards. Some absolutely astonishing entries, really fantastic to see such great building/renovation innovations across the UK. Here's the full list of winners: homebuilding.co.uk/news/awards

This was a lot of fun to write about, such a groovy #renovation and what an incredible amount of effort to restore original features. Stunning photos too #60s homebuilding.co.uk/news/this-retr…

Hear they’ve searched over 7,000 miles for the #TitanSub Really hope U.S. Coast Guard is looking inside the #Titanic as well as around it. Surely it must be snagged around the most likely place. Wonder if Elon Musk has any thoughts

Looking around for new energy deals right now and I’m getting offered 54p per kWh for daytime electric! Lowest I’ve found was 38p per kWh. I thought electricity prices were meant to go down after the energy price guarantee ended Ofgem MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis ?

Personally find it unlikely a 16 year- old would bother to do this in a storm for a prank, let alone mark a saw cut with white paint #SycamoreGap

So the UK government wants to encourage green living, recycling & net zero waste but is now going to tax people for selling their secondhand stuff? Surely people will just stop selling things on and bin it instead? #baffled dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

And surely if you've paid your tax buying the item, you shouldn't pay tax again when selling it on to make ends meet? dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

Amy Willis (@amy_willis) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Not to mention that it targets stay-at-home mums selling off their baby/children's gear once they've grown out of it to make ends meet - and probably spend it (and pay tax!) on buying their children new necessities. Totally the wrong message dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

Amy Willis (@amy_willis) 's Twitter Profile Photo

That said, I'd imagine if you could prove you bought the item for more, there would be no capital gain and therefore no tax to pay. So we all need to be keeping our receipts if we plan to resell anything on eBay, Vinted or other online platforms from now on
